Awards

Although The Bashful Ostrich 5K is primarily an awareness event to draw publicity to the cause of survivors of sexual abuse, it also serves as an athletic competition where we hope to attract the best runners in Ohio to challenge themselves on our fast and flat course. Besides providing quality athletic awards, we will also give awards in the following categories.

Best Dressed Ostrich Award: An award for a registered participant who wears the best ostrich costume. Decided by race committee judges. This goes hand in hand with our commitment to add humor to the often-serious subject of sexual abuse. We all need to laugh!!

Walking awards: First place awards to top male and female walker; top 15 walkers get Bashful Ostrich medal awards. Please note: any walker who runs will not be eligible for a walking award. Be careful: the Ostrich will be watching!

Running Awards: First place awards to top male and female runner. Top 15 runners will get Bashful Ostrich medal awards. Age bracket winners in the running division will receive Bashful Ostrich lucite awards. Second and third place runners in each age bracket will receive Bashful Ostrich branded awards.

Age brackets: Running:  14 and under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 & over
